The film chronicles the extreme adversity, the ballerina Misty Copeland experienced starting her carrier as a dancer. Opening in a set build, that mimicked the small rehearsal room she started from in New York, to the large global ballet stages she currently inhabits. The design involved creating the sense of scale and emotional changes that happened in her life. Integrating a fully sprung dance floor and the digital set extension for the final wide.
